Warren Jeffs sentenced to life imprisonment, possessing over 70 sex slaves.

Warren Jeffs, male, American from Texas, leader of the cult organization Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS), self-proclaimed prophet of the church, had sexual relationships with 78 women, including minors. On August 9, 2011, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for rape of a minor.

Life Imprisonment

Warren Jeffs claimed to be the "last saint" and "prophet" of the FLDS fundamentalist sect, with over 10,000 followers in the United States. The FBI has classified the organization he founded as a cult.

On August 9, 2011, a Texas jury decided to sentence Jeffs to life imprisonment plus 20 years of probation, along with a $10,000 fine. In court, Jeffs refused to plead guilty, claiming that the court had no jurisdiction over him. He even threatened that if the court did not release his "servants," "God" would personally punish the trial participants. In addition to Warren Jeffs, seven other men were also tried.

Having Multiple Wives and Concubines

During his time as the cult leader, Warren Jeffs had sexual relationships with a total of 78 women, including 24 who were under the age of 17, with the youngest being only 12 years old. Through brainwashing by Jeffs and other cult members, hundreds of women believed that as long as they could satisfy Warren Jeffs, they would be able to go to heaven.

Among his 78 wives, 29 were his stepmothers, who were the wives of his father, Rulon Jeffs. The elder Jeffs also claimed to be a "prophet." In 2004, Warren Jeffs and his followers moved to a large mansion in Texas, where he and hundreds of his followers lived. In 2008, the police raided the compound and rescued 400 children.

Exposure and Revelations

Warren Jeffs once wrote in his diary, "If my deeds are known to the world, they will surely hang me from the highest tree." Starting from 2005, Warren Jeffs recorded his daily life in his diary and liked to record everything he did, every marriage, every woman he had a relationship with, and even the process of sexual activities on cassette tapes.

In 2008, these cassette tapes were made public, shocking the entire jury. The prosecutor used the tapes and diary as evidence to charge him with sexual assault on minors. According to the tapes, Warren Jeffs had forced a 12-year-old girl to have sexual relations with him. What was even more shocking was that Warren Jeffs' wives and concubines assisted him in sexually assaulting minors. They held the girl's hands and feet, preventing her from moving. The tapes also revealed that Warren Jeffs taught his young "wives" how to give him sexual pleasure. He claimed that if they couldn't do it, "God" would reject them. If they could assist him in having sexual relations with others, they would be closer to "God."

In his diary, Jeffs also mentioned that he increasingly enjoyed "teaching" young girls because they were "very cooperative and easy to teach."

Advocating Polygamy

According to Taiwan's Eastern Broadcasting Company, Warren Jeffs, the leader of the church that advocated polygamy in the United States, admitted in prison that he had engaged in incestuous relationships with his sisters and daughters over 30 years ago. He felt "immoral" about it and gave up his role as a "prophet."

According to court documents, Jeffs revealed this past during phone conversations with family members and followers in prison. Jeffs said that when he was 20 years old, he "had engaged in improper relationships with a sister and a daughter." He also said that he gave up his role as a prophet because "God told him that he was an evil person and had not fulfilled his religious duties since he was 20 years old."

However, court records show that after receiving treatment for depression, Jeffs retracted his statement about giving up his role as a prophet to his followers. These recorded conversations were preserved by the authorities but were not presented as evidence in court.

Jeffs led the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which advocated polygamy and viewed women as inferior. He forced marriages on women and had his headquarters at the border of Utah and Arizona. The church had approximately 7,500 followers, and it is believed that Jeffs had at least 77 wives.

Jeffs was arrested in August 2006 and was convicted of two counts of aiding and abetting sexual assault for forcing a 14-year-old female follower to marry her cousin. He was sentenced on November 20, and after his arrest, more and more former followers came forward to accuse him.
